        Candle Care

      • Trim Candle Wicks to 1/4 inch each time before burning. Your soy candle will burn cleaner and longer by trimming the wick to 1/4 inch before you light it. Long and crooked wicks cause uneven burning and create black soot.

      • Keep candles out of the reach of small children and the wagging tail of your pets. Just tonight, my husband accidentally knocked over the bag of tortilla chips into the burning candle. Luckily it didn't catch on fire.

      • Never burn a candle on or near anything flammable. A few years back, we had a big party celebrating my oldest daughter's 18th birthday. I used a gel candle to keep the food warm for our guests. I tried moving the candle towards the middle of the food warmer when I accidentally knocked over the candle. The flame spread over the table cloth so fast, it scared me to death!. Luckily my brother was quick enough to put out the fire and prevented it from burning the Hall down. Keep burning candles away from furniture, drapes, bedding, carpets, table cloth, paper, books, etc.

      • Keep a burning candle within sight. Extinguish all lit candles before leaving your home for short or extended periods of time like shopping or dining out.

      • Never put a flammable materials in your candle like Cinnamon Stick. A friend of mine put a cinnamon stick in her candle as a decoration. When she lit the candle and the wax started to liquify, the cinnamon stick fell into the flame and started to burn. The other parts of the burning cinnamon stick fell off the container and onto the table runner. Thank god for her, the smoke alarm went off and alerted her of the burning table runner. Luckily, she was able to put out the fire from burning her whole house!.

      • Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings and matches debris at all times.
